Meet The Team

Earlier this year we welcomed Simon to the Sales team as the newest BDM. In this weeks blog, we sat down with Simon to get to know him, his role and what he's most looking forward to about 2025!

What is your role at Speller? What does an average day involve?

At Speller I am one of our Business Development Managers and an average day would be speaking with prospective/existing clients to build relationships and understand their business and how they can utilise the expertise of Speller to support their Programs. We don’t just resource profiles, we have high level conversations around project plans, pain points etc. to provide a consultative approach, that could help their programs run effectively, efficiently and within time constraints. Furthermore, we communicate market insights such as hiring, industry & upgrade trends that could aid them in current/future initiatives.

Having been in the SAP recruitment sector for 6 years I have developed an excellent understand of the various projects, modules and skill sets required to successfully carry out SAP initiatives, a deep understanding of SAP is imperative to set yourself apart in the recruitment industry to ensure you are providing a specialist and personable approach to your clients. This in tandem helps to solidify those relationships and gives you credibility when a client has a resourcing gap they need support with, to have the confidence the profiles you are supplying are accurate to what the business needs.

Tell us a bit about your professional background.

I have been working in the SAP recruitment industry since 2019, starting my career in London, UK where I serviced clients in 15 countries across Europe, US and Asia with their SAP Programs, I have supported clients across a multitude of industries such as Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, FMCG, Financial Services etc. I have worked with clients directly as well as supporting them via enterprise System Integrators who I partnered with to help deliver end to end SAP Programs and roll-outs across the World. Having graduated from a top 10 UK University with a bachelor’s degree in management & information technology I am able to understand the ERP lifecycle more thoroughly and adapting to the industry has been easier due to my learning when I was a student to understand client needs.

What are you enjoying about your role at Speller?

I am enjoying being part of a forward thinking, innovative business that has a true passion for SAP recruitment and genuinely cares about their clients and candidates they work with.

Where do we find you in your downtime?

In my down time you will find me travelling, I have been lucky enough to travel across Europe, Asia and Australia and experiencing different cultures is something I love to do.

What's your favourite part of Australia?

This is a hard question to answer as Australia has lots of wonderful places, some highlights would have to be the beaches in WA, Uluru and The Great Barrier Reef.

What does 2025 hold both professionally and personally for you?

Professionally: To learn & improve every day, constantly pushing myself to be the best version of myself and servicing/building relationships with as many clients and candidates as possible in 2025. I will also travel to more places I haven’t been to yet, immersing myself in new cultures and experiences as well as pushing myself to exercise more often as a healthy body is a healthy mind!

Welcome Simon to the Speller team, it's great to have you on board. Make sure you're connected to Simon on LinkedIn to stay up to date with his market information, roles and more.
