Meet the team - Michael Surawski
Posted on February 2024 By Speller International
We recently welcomed Michael Surawski to the Account Management team. In this weeks blog we learn more about Michael, his background and what he's looking forward to in 2024.
What is your role at Speller? What does an average day involve?
As a Business Development Manager, my daily routine revolves around engaging with clients and companies to gain a deep understanding of their businesses. This involves delving into their SAP landscape, upcoming projects, and resourcing needs both now and in the future. By taking detailed job briefs, you identify specific skills gaps, address pain points, and determine the necessary experience each business unit requires to achieve their business objectives.
My role is pivotal in assisting the Speller team in locating ideal candidates. Utilising my understanding of client requirements ensures that candidates are well-matched to the roles, contributing to the success of both businesses and individuals. It’s rewarding to guide candidates on their journey toward their next career challenge.
Tell us a bit about your professional background
I have over 20 years b2b sales experience across Telecommunications ICT, Advertising & Media, Recruitment technology and Recruitment. I’ve held Sales & Leadership positions across the breadth of the eastern seaboard starting in Brisbane, Sydney and now Melbourne. Having led an outbound direct team at CareerOne I transitioned into agency recruitment where I have led high performing 360 specialist sales recruitment teams and recently joined Speller as a Business Development Manager.
What are you enjoying about your role at Speller?
It is such a collaborative work environment - working together to ensure the best outcome for our candidates and clients and building thriving relationships.
Where do we find you in your downtime?
Usually doing something active like going to the gym, kayaking, snow skiing and travelling as much as possible. Another passion of mine is cooking! I’m frequently found wining & dining around Melbourne’s food scene.
What's your favourite part of Australia?
Northern NSW, in particular Cabarita beach. Cabarita’s limited development ensures a quiet, relaxed holiday atmosphere. Explore the wetlands, spot birdlife and as day turns to dusk, head to Norries Headland for sunset vistas. Diamond Beach unfolds before you, painting the sky with hues of gold and pink.
What does 2024 hold both professionally and personally for you?
I am making the most of every opportunity, learning new skills, meeting new people, trying new experiences and generally trying to push myself outside of my comfort zone.
Welcome Michael, it's great to have you on board. Make sure you connect with Michael on LinkedIn here.
